This waterfall has been used in many of Hollywood and Bollywood movies and preferred location for movie makers across the world. (Indian movies such as Bahubali, Dil Se, Guru, Raavan, Ponnugai Mannan etc and Hollywood movies such as Uglis, Holy Smoke, Pirate’s Blood, Before the Rains etc are shot in Athirapally waterfalls) During and after the monsoon (June – Dec) you can see the fall in full form. Athirapally waterfall is located on the Chalakkudy river stands 81.5 feet tall close to the dense forest of Chalakkudi Forest Division under Govt of Kerala. A visit to the waterfall will be extravaganza to your eyes. Other than Atjirapilly waterfalls there are Vazhachal waterfall and chapathu waterfalls (only during monsoon) which are also visited by tourist with great interest.
